About Mandy Takhar

Mandy Takhar is an award winning British Punjabi Film Star belonging to the Punjabi Film Industry. Born on the 1st of May, Mandy grew up in Wolverhampton in the UK with her family. Trained in martial arts, this tomboyish girl was played rugby and football, being the only girl in the all-boys team in her school. At the age of 17 Mandy went to study drama at the Kingston University London. Thereafter in 2009 she decided to follow her dream to work as an actor and came to India.

Filmography

Her role in her Debut film Ekam-Son of Soil in 2010 was highly appreciated and from there began her journey in Films. In 2012 she was offered her dream role as Sahiba in film Mirza-The Untold Story, which was the modern adaptation of the ethnic love story Mirza-Sahiba, for which she was nominated the best Actress of the Punjabi Cinema. In 2013 her role in the film "Sardaar Ji" she won the award for best supporting actor at PTC Punjabi Film Awards, Sardarji till date being the highest grossing film of the Punjabi Cinema, that took Mandy to the new heights of fame and success thereafter, as she chose her scripts with exceptional care to do films like ‘Ardas’, ‘Rabb da Radio’ and ‘Khido Khundi’ to be released in March 2018. As a child Mandy dreamt of singing as well as acting, and recently sung her first debut song ‘Lado Rani’ a Punjabi dance number composed by Dr.Zeus. Lado Rani represents a pampered girl who’s dancing and rejoicing life.She looks forward to the songs global success produced by BeingUstudios.
